Kopal ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name and mobile number. Your mobile number is used solely to identify your account uniquely and is not verified via OTP or used for authentication.
• Camera Images: When you use the plant scanning feature, photos are captured and sent to our servers for AI-powered analysis. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently on our servers.
• Scan History: Plant scan results (diagnosis, care recommendations, product suggestions) are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our cloud service.
• Sync Identifier: To enable Cloud Sync, the app generates a random, non-identifying UUID on your device. This identifier is not derived from your device's hardware and cannot be used to identify your device or track you across other apps.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Kopal account, using your mobile number as a unique account identifier.
• To analyze plant images and provide health diagnoses using Google Gemini AI.
• To store and sync your scan history across your devices (when you opt into Cloud Sync).
• To provide personalized plant care recommendations and product suggestions.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI: Plant images are sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Cloud Run: Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
• Expo Application Services: Used for app distribution and over-the-air updates.

We do not sell your name, mobile number, or scan data to third parties, and we do not use this information for advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Plant scan data is primarily stored locally on your device.
• Cloud-synced data, along with your account information, is stored on secure Google Cloud infrastructure.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your scan history at any time from within the app. Deleted records are also removed from cloud storage during the next sync. To request complete account deletion — including your name, mobile number, and all associated data — contact us at the email below.

6. Children's Privacy

Kopal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
